Team "I-Team" Wins the Second Edition of the Hackathon ISSA PULIRE second place for the "Idrobase ISSA" Team

The second edition of the Hackathon ISSA PULIRE 2025 concluded with great success. Organized by the ISSA PULIRE Network in collaboration with FDS, the competition brought together brilliant university students who competed on the theme of smart and sustainable cleaning management for two newly imagined Milan stadiums of the year 2035—cutting-edge, multifunctional hubs.

The Challenge and the Winning Project
The winner was "I-Team", sponsored by the homonymous company, which presented the most compelling, innovative, and technologically advanced solution to the challenge outlined in the problem statement: ensuring optimal maintenance of two 300,000 m² facilities, operating 16 hours a day, and managed by only 60 staff members, by integrating AI, IoT, robotics, and risk monitoring tools. The three students are enrolled in the Industrial Automation Engineering department at the University of Brescia. Second place went to the Idrobase / ISSA Team, composed of four students from the Artificial Intelligence and Mathematics & AI programs at the University of Milano-Bicocca, University of Milan (Statale), and University of Pavia.

The winning project impressed the jury, composed of Cesare Grassi (Chief Operating Officer of the National School Services Foundation), Peter Hug (Managing Director of VDMA), Giulio Sciortino (Technician at the Italian Institute of Technology), with its ability to leverage data from IoT devices to optimize real-time cleaning, employ autonomous robots for repetitive tasks, and use digital tools to enhance human expertise and improve risk management in high-traffic environments.

Opening the award ceremony was Silvia Scurati, Vice President of the IV Permanent Commission – Productive Activities, Education, Training and Employment of the Lombardy Region, who expressed her congratulations to all the students and Lombard universities participating in the competition.
